How to Fish fixes & save help
Start with Steam Cloud, radar problems, version checks and official support resources.
For missing progress after changing computers, start with the Steam Cloud guide. If your radar is missing or the next island never appears, read the map page. For anything else, record the version and reproduction steps before reporting the issue.
Match the fix to the symptom
- Cannot join a lobby or the Steam relay text is red: see multiplayer connection notes.
- Missing progress or a second PC: Steam Cloud guide.
- Lost radar or no new coordinates: map and radar help.
- Cannot find leeches: Leeches in How to Fish.
- An achievement did not unlock: achievements guide.
- Lobby problems: multiplayer.
Name the problem
A sync problem, a crash and a multiplayer connection failure are different issues. Include what happened, when it began, and whether the host or all players are affected.
Keep your existing progress
Avoid deleting saves as a general fix. Patch 1.0.11 made the game check that saves are not corrupt before loading and added backups, but keep your own separate backup before following any instructions that change local game data.
