How to Fish download: free, key & official source
Searches for a free download, a key or an APK all lead to the same question: where is the real game? Here is what the official sources say.
The only official place to download How to Fish is Steam, where the live page showed $7.99 with no discount on October 8, 2026. There is no free-to-play version, and the developer's FAQ says it is not handing out free game keys, so a "free download", APK or key from another site is not an official release.
How to download it from Steam
- Install the Steam client and sign in (see Steam's own install page).
- Open the official How to Fish store page and buy the game.
- Open your Steam Library, select How to Fish and press Install.
- Check the PC requirements first: 64-bit Windows 10 or later, 8 GB RAM and about 1 GB of storage are listed.
The developer's patch notes say "Restart Steam for update" when a new patch ships, so if your version looks old, restart the client. You can check the version at the bottom right of the main menu.

No. The store listing shows a paid game with a list price of $7.99, and no free edition is listed. The developer ran a one-week launch offer, so a lower price you remember may have ended. Regional prices vary; see price & bundles.
If you buy and it is not for you, Steam has its own refund policy with time and playtime limits. Read it before you rely on it.

The developer's website FAQ says it is not handing out free game keys. If a site, video or social post promises a free key, treat it as unverified. We do not recommend or link key resellers. If you buy a key anywhere other than Steam, make sure it is for Steam and for your region, and contact Steam Support or the seller if it fails.

The store page captured on October 8, 2026 shows an Add to Cart button and bundle options but no demo. If a Download Demo button ever appears on the live page for your region, that is the official demo; otherwise be wary of any "demo" file hosted elsewhere.

- APK files. No official Android edition is listed. See Is How to Fish on mobile?.
- Cracked or "unlock everything" files. We have seen community posts that suggest replacing or editing game files. The developer does not endorse this, and it can corrupt your save. Patch 1.0.11 added save backups, but that is not a reason to risk your progress.
- Console downloads. The developer's FAQ says console and Mac versions are planned, with no date. See PS5 and Xbox.
