Record the problem
Note your island, game version, whether you are hosting, and what you tried. Distinguish never finding a creature from finding it once and then being unable to find another. This information makes a community support question more useful.
Before restarting a session
Use the game's save and quit controls. Check the save guide before switching computers. Do not delete a world or overwrite a working save just to test a spawn claim.
Ask for reproducible evidence
When comparing advice, look for an in-game location, a version number and a repeatable method. A timer without a source is not enough to establish respawn behavior. The official community is linked below for reports.
